DPP 2008: 5

We had a Jedi Training Academy party tonight for Pete’s 5th birthday (which is Sunday). There were 7 5 to 7 year olds here. So. Much. Fun.

They colored R2-D2 upon arrival, made their own Death Star pizzas, guessed the character on their backs (Jedi mind tricks, of course), had blaster training (Calvin won), deactivated the Thermal Detonator (Peter won), made their own light sabers out of foam swords (think pool noodles, only in the shape of a sword) and various colors of duct tape, and, as their final challenge, destroyed the Death Star (pinata – video of which you can see on Facebook).

We had such a good time!

This is a picture of Anakin’s fake arm that got cut off by Count Dooku.

I love my boy, and my boy loves Star Wars.

Thanks, RT, for encouraging me to use the camera more!

December Photo Project – Day 1

My friend, Rebecca, is doing a some-odd annual December Photo Project where you show the “world” what you’re looking at for the first 25 days of December. Ta-da!

This is what my living room looked liked this morning when I woke up.

We got in late from a nice, long visit to St. Louis for Thanksgiving, and this is the thanks I got.  ;)

I spent the day cleaning and unpacking and doing dishes and putting away laundry and stripping the last bit of wallpaper off the third wall so we could decorate as a family tonight.

I can hardly keep my eyes open.
